Dr. Sohal did his MD from the University of Alberta, Edmonton and PhD in Biochemistry from the University of Saskatchewan, Saskatoon. He did his residency training in family medicine from the University of British Columbia. He has been a Family Physician in Surrey since 1997. He has a Certificate in Travel Health (CTH) by the International Society of Travel Medicine. He is the Medical Director of the Surrey Medical & Travel Clinic. His clinic is listed under Global Travel Directory.
Dr. Sohal is a Clinical Professor in the Department of Family Practice at the University of British Columbia. He is also a Clinical Professor in the new School of Medicine at the Simon Fraser University. He is a staff member at the Surrey Memorial Hospital. Dr. Sohal is an academic family physician with strong interest in teaching medical students/residents, clinical research in diabetes/cardiovascular diseases and community health. He was awarded 2014 Canada’s Family Physician of the Year Award for BC by the College of Family Physicians of Canada.
